How are you feeling about the new Nissan Z?
Alright so let’s step away from my excitement about Acura’s new TLX Type S and talk about another JDM legend – the Nissan Z! Nissan today announced a 4-year plan surrounding the brand’s sustainability and profitability by the end of fiscal-year 2023.
All the corporate talk aside, the announcement came with a video (cleverly titled A to Z) highlighting a bunch of new vehicles in Nissan’s product pipeline. However,
forget every other car in that video because everyone who saw the video is focused on the new Nissan Z. From the quick teaser,
I can see a mixture of design elements taken from the 240Z and the 300ZX. In terms of power,
the powertrain being thrown around in the speculation world for the new Z is Infiniti’s Red Sport 400 engine that makes 400-hp from a 3.0L twin-turbo V6. The other possibility is a 4.0L V6. I’ve also heard rumors of a Nismo model with 500-hp.
Timeline wise we’ll probably see the new Z in all of its glory at the later end of this year or early next year.
